Main REIC’s activity launched within EESD project is a summer school, with intention to be regular annual event for SEE. The fund for the first two summer schools provided from EESD project in order to spur organisation of the event. It is showed as successful since REIC succeeded to continue the event.  


So far, REIC organized 5 (five) international summer schools on sustainable development. In the first one, held in Cervia  (Italy), REIC participated in the organization by inviting the participants and providing lecturers from Southeastern Europe (SEE). Further, REIC has became the main organizer of the summer school. The topic of the second summer school was "Interdisciplinary and Sustainable Management of Protected Areas" held in Sarajevo  (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and Natural park Lonjsko polje  (Croatia). The topic of the third summer school was "Social and environemntal apsects related to building and operating of energy facilities" held in Tuzla (Bosnia and Herzegovina), one week and in National park Djerdap (Serbia), one week. The second summer school was fully financed through EESD project, while the third one was financed partially through EESD project and REIC`s own resources as well as contribution of institutions of the lecturers. The fourth summer school held in Fojnica (Bosnia and Herzegovina), topic “Climate Changes and Renewable Energy in SEE”. The school was financed by Central European Initiative (CEI), Ministry of Environment and Tourism of Federation of BH and REIC. The fifth summer school also held in Fojnica. Topic was “Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency in SEE”. The school was financed by CEI, UNESCO-BRESCE, Dutch Embassy in BiH, GTZ and Ministry of Environment and Tourism of Federation of BH.
