COVID-19: New dates of the 16th International Summer School

The 16th International Summer School “NATIONAL ENERGY AND CLIMATE PLANS 2021-2030” is organized by REIC in collaboration with the Central European Initiative (CEI), German Development Cooperation – GIZ Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit and UNESCO Regional Bureau for Science and Culture in Europe (Antenna in Sarajevo). This year’s School is conducted of two modules:

  1. Webinar module (July 22-24, 2020)
  2. In-class module (October 22-31, 2020)

The International Summer School „National Energy and Climate Plans 2021-2030“ (Webinar module) was held online in period of July 22-24, 2020. The in-class module of the School will be held in the Ethno Village Čardaci (Bosnia and Herzegovina). It was initially planned to be held in period of August 20-29, 2020 but due to expansion of the pandemic COVID-19 the School is rescheduled for October 22-31, 2020.

Both modules of the School are thematically dedicated to the National Energy and Climate Plans (NECPs) developed by European Union Member States and meaning of the decarbonisation process. Bringing all energy and climate targets into one strategy the NECPs cover five key dimensions for the next 10 years. The key dimensions (energy security, internal energy market, energy efficiency, decarbonisation and research) will be elaborated trough the both modules.
